Our Doctrinal Beliefs

We know that there are many doctrines that are debated among different churches and denominations. We wish to be up front with our beliefs to help you decide if this is the right church for you.

The Inerrant Word of God

We believe that the Bible was written over the course of a few thousand years by about 40 different authors, handpicked by God for the purpose of transcribing His inspired Word which we now refer to as the Holy Bible. We believe that the men who wrote the words were inspired as well as the words that were written. The Bible is a living document that represents the spoken words and actions of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, through the eyes and ears of His servants and disciples. The original transcriptions contained no errors and were written in the Hebrew (Old Testament) and Greek (New Testament) languages.

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

-2 Timothy 3:16-17

Young-Earth Creation

We believe that the account of God's creation of the world, recorded in the beginning of the book of Genesis, should be taken literally. God created all things from nothing in six days and rested on the seventh. According to Scriptural and historical genealogies, the universe is approximately six to ten thousand years old, contrary to popular belief. While we were not there to prove this belief, neither were evolutionists there to prove their theories. We do believe that there is scientific evidence to support this belief.

"For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it."

-Exodus 20:11

The Trinity

We believe that there is one God that exists as three equal, distinct, divine persons. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit are one God in three divine forms. While this is impossible for the human mind to comprehend, we believe that a perfect, almighty God should not be capable of being fully comprehended. We believe that Scripture is infallible, and the Bible contains evidence of the Divine Trinity of God.

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen."

-2 Corinthians 13:14

Deity and Humanity of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is part of the trinity that came to earth and was born to the virgin Mary, making Him 100 percent God and 100 percent man at the same time. He was still divine during His life on earth, but He chose to limit Himself to the form of man so He could be the perfect sacrifice needed to save us from our sin.

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men."

-Philippians 2:5-7

Ordinances of the Church

We believe that there are two main ordinances that God has commanded the church to perform in remembrance of the sacrifice Christ made to save us, baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe that every believer should be baptised through full immersion into water as described in the Bible. This should not be performed until after salvation when the new believer is ready to commit their life to obedience to God and his commandments.

"Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

-Romans 6:4

We also believe that that Lord's Supper should be accepted by the church in remembrance of the body and blood Christ, which were broken and shed for the salvation of the world. We use bread and juice to represent the body and blood and do not believe that these transform into the actual body or blood of Christ as some teach. They are representations to symbolise our remembrance of Christ's sacrifice.

"But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup."

-1 Corinthians 11:28

Pre-Tribulation Rapture

We believe that Jesus will return to earth, the dead believers will rise from their graves, and they, along with all living believers, will be called to heaven. Believers will not have to face the wrath and judgement of God, as we will be summoned to heaven moments before the beginning of the Tribulation. This event is referred to as the Rapture today, and we believe that the apostle Paul references this event multiple times in his letters to other believers, reminding them to always be prepared for the return of Christ.

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words."

-1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
